Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS)

This position is covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) and is classified as 01613 – Word Processor III.

Base wages and Health & Welfare (H&W), holiday, and vacation benefits will meet or exceed the requirements of the current U.S. Department of Labor Wage Determination applicable to this position and work location. Compensation and applicable SCLS benefits are subject to the governing Wage Determination and may be adjusted in accordance with Department of Labor or contract updates.

 

Position Overview

MORA Consultants, LLC is seeking a qualified Word Processor III to provide document-production, word-processing, data-entry, reporting, and related support to the U.S. Navy's Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) in San Diego, California.

The Word Processor III performs advanced word-processing functions requiring comprehensive knowledge of word-processing software applications and office practices and a high degree of skill in preparing, formatting, editing, and maintaining complex and detailed documents.

The position supports designated SWRMC divisions with the preparation and maintenance of reports, memoranda, correspondence, personnel rosters, equipment records, technical and program documentation, and other required records and data. Work may involve lengthy or complex documents containing tables, charts, graphs, multiple columns, specialized formatting, or other advanced document-production requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to work accurately and independently, apply established formatting and documentation requirements, manage multiple assignments and deadlines, and resolve routine document-production and formatting issues consistent with established procedures and contract requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, format, edit, revise, proofread, and process reports, memoranda, letters, correspondence, forms, and other documents using Microsoft Office and Government-approved applications.

  • Prepare and process complex or detailed documents that may contain tables, graphs, charts, multiple columns, specialized formatting, embedded data, or other advanced word-processing features.

  • Apply advanced word-processing functions, templates, styles, formatting conventions, and other software features necessary to produce accurate and professionally formatted documents.

  • Prepare and maintain applicable SWRMC documentation, which may include Civilian Awards, assessment reports, program reports, Certifications of Tests and Repair Reports, and other command or program documentation within the scope of the position.

  • Review documents for formatting, completeness, consistency, grammar, spelling, and adherence to established document-production requirements before routing or submission.

  • Enter, update, organize, and maintain information in spreadsheets, databases, reports, personnel rosters, equipment records, logs, and other authorized Government records or tracking tools.

  • Process, file, and route correspondence associated with assigned document-preparation activities in accordance with established Government and contractual procedures.

  • Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy files and records associated with assigned document-production and data-management responsibilities.

  • Attend meetings, as required, to support assigned documentation, reporting, records-management, or coordination responsibilities.

  • Track assigned documents, records, reports, or other work products through completion and maintain applicable status information.

  • Independently complete assigned word-processing and document-production tasks and resolve routine formatting, software, and document-preparation issues within established procedures.

  • Coordinate with appropriate SWRMC personnel to obtain information or clarification necessary to accurately prepare and complete assigned documents and records.

  • Attend meetings when necessary to support assigned documentation, reporting, or records-management responsibilities.

  • Protect Government information and handle documents and records in accordance with applicable security, privacy, records-management, and information-handling requirements.

  • Perform other Word Processor III duties within the applicable SCLS classification and contract requirements, as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active SECRET security clearance at the time of hire and ability to maintain the required clearance throughout employment.

  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and all required Government installation, facility, network, and system access. MORA will coordinate the applicable CAC sponsorship process for the selected candidate.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant word-processing, document-production, records, data-entry, or comparable professional office experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, including document formatting and advanced word-processing functions.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Ability to prepare and format complex and detailed documents accurately.

  • Ability to review written materials for formatting, consistency, spelling, grammar, and completeness.

  • Strong data-entry and records-maintenance skills with demonstrated attention to accuracy.

  • Ability to organize and maintain multiple documents, records, and assignments simultaneously.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and resolve routine document-production issues.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience performing word-processing or document-production functions in support of the U.S. Navy, Department of War (DoW)/Department of Defense (DoD), or another federal Government organization.

  • Experience preparing or formatting technical reports, Government correspondence, program documentation, or other complex documents.

  • Experience working with Navy or other Government document templates, correspondence standards, records, databases, or reporting systems.

  • Experience supporting a shipyard, maintenance, engineering, technical, logistics, or other Navy operational environment.

  • Experience preparing documents containing tables, charts, graphs, multiple columns, or specialized formatting.

  • Experience maintaining Government personnel rosters, equipment records, reports, logs, or similar data.

  • Familiarity with Government records-management and information-handling requirements.

Information Management: Accurately manages information from multiple sources while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and document control.

 

Work Environment

  • Full-time, 100% onsite position at the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) in San Diego, California.

  • Work is primarily performed in a professional Government office environment.

  • Duties require regular use of computers, Government information systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other authorized software and equipment.

  • Work assignments are performed in accordance with applicable contract requirements, Government procedures, and the duties associated with the Word Processor III labor classification.

  • Occasional overtime may be required based on mission needs and contract requirements. Any overtime must be authorized in accordance with Company and contract procedures and will be compensated in accordance with applicable law and contract requirements.

 

Security and Government Access Requirements

  • Applicants must possess an active SECRET security clearance at the time of hire and must maintain the required security clearance throughout employment.

  • This position requires a Common Access Card (CAC). MORA will coordinate the applicable sponsorship process for eligible employees; applicants are not required to possess a CAC at the time of application.

  • The selected candidate must successfully complete all Government requirements necessary for CAC issuance and maintain the CAC throughout the assignment.

  • Employment and continued assignment are contingent upon maintaining all Government-required security eligibility, credentials, access authorizations, and customer requirements applicable to the position.

  • Employees must comply with applicable Government security, information-protection, cybersecurity, privacy, Operations Security (OPSEC), and records-management requirements.

  • Employees must complete and maintain all Government- and Company-required security, access, cybersecurity, and other mandatory training applicable to the assignment.

  • Loss, suspension, denial, or inability to maintain a required security clearance, CAC, installation access, or other Government-required credential or access may affect the employee's ability to perform the essential requirements of the assigned position.

Compensation & Benefits

 

This position is covered under the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) and the current U.S. Department of Labor Wage Determination applicable to the position and work location.

Hourly wage: $24.27 per hour

Health & Welfare (H&W): $5.09 per hour, provided in accordance with the applicable Wage Determination and contract requirements.

Holiday and vacation benefits: Provided in accordance with the applicable Wage Determination and Company policy.

Paid Sick Leave – Executive Order 13706: Eligible employees working on or in connection with this covered federal contract accrue paid sick leave in accordance with Executive Order 13706 and applicable implementing regulations. Paid sick leave accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every 30 hours worked on or in connection with the covered contract, up to 56 hours, subject to applicable law and Company policy.​

Overtime: Compensated in accordance with applicable federal and California law and contract requirements.
